I'm Garath, an Independent Personal Financial Advisor based in Durban, South Africa.

What does that mean? It means that rather than work for one Insurer, like many tied agents, I represent you, the client, by contracting with all major insurance and investment firms in the country to offer you, the client, the best solution to your needs across all leading financial services.

I'm a husband, and a father, and I serve my community with the same effort that I give to my family. See you soon!

"WHERE ARE YOU BASED?"

I live and work predominantly in Durban, KZN, though I work with clients nationwide. I can perform Zoom or Microsoft Team introductions if you're from outside of the province and want to know more about how I can help you.

"WHAT DO YOU DO?"

In my industry, we have what is called the "Golden Thread of Estate Planning"; this "Golden Thread" outlines the best practices for all Financial and Estate Planning, and it all starts with a Will. Invariably, no matter how many insurance or investment policies we have, our Last Will and Testament remains the single most important document in our Estates and in our Financial Plans.

For this reason, all of my planning centers around your Will. If you don't have one, we get one - that's non-negotiable. If you do, we take a look at that, as it has the greatest bearing on what your (Last) wishes are. From there, we look at your Real Costs of Dying - the fees that you can't get away from. After this, we are free to look at growing and protecting your Wealth through Tax-Efficient and Cost-Efficient methods: These are your Income Protections, your Retirement Annuities, your Life Insurances, and your Funeral Benefits, among other things.

Not neglecting business owners, we might look at your succession plan for your successor(s), and will definitely consider the Tax-Deductibles that include your corporate benefits and your Key-Man and Property coverage.

My role in our relationship will be that of an Advice Giver; I get to know you, your goals, and your vision for your life by asking carefully selected questions to understand your budget, what you value the most, and what you need to achieve your goals and realize your vision. I then recommend solutions that align with your standards and your goals. Then, if you're comfortable with the Plan we've created, we move forward with affordable and efficient solutions.

hat you're prepared to pay depends on what problems you're prepared to solve, and I help you find the best solution at a price you can afford. In short, you pay for a solution after you've decided on which solution you need and want, and not a cent before then.
